Snowdonia Hub provides accommodation and space for groups, retreats and offsites in Eryri. We recognise that our activities affect energy use, water, waste, transport, purchasing and the surrounding natural environment.
We commit to managing these impacts responsibly and to a continuing programme of improvement
We will:
Chris and Julie will review our environmental practices annually, using existing utility bills, maintenance records and observations from running the property.
We will keep a short record of improvements made and agree practical priorities for the following year. Relevant contractors will receive environmental instructions appropriate to their work.
Environmental concerns can be raised with either Chris or Julie. Significant incidents will be recorded and addressed, with action taken to prevent recurrence.

Snowdonia Hub is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions from its UK business operations by 2050 at the latest.
We are a small accommodation and retreat business run by Chris and Julie, with no employees at present. We use independent contractors when needed. Our approach focuses on practical improvements appropriate to our size, resources and operations.
We have not calculated a formal carbon footprint and do not claim that our business is carbon neutral.
We will focus first on reducing unnecessary energy and material use, maintaining equipment efficiently and considering lower-carbon options when making purchasing and replacement decisions.
Our current operating practices include:
These measures support our wider environmental approach. We do not claim quantified carbon savings from them, or treat green electricity purchasing as proof of zero emissions.
Over the next 12 months, we will:
When larger equipment reaches the end of its useful life, we will consider suitable lower-carbon alternatives, taking account of cost, practicality and the needs of the property.
Chris and Julie will review this plan once a year.
We will use information already available to us, such as electricity and fuel bills, maintenance records and purchasing decisions. Where possible, we will compare energy quantities rather than spending alone, recognising that occupancy and weather affect consumption
We will keep a short record of improvements completed and select achievable priorities for the following year. We will not claim measured emissions reductions without supporting evidence.
As the business develops, we will review whether more detailed carbon measurement is appropriate or required.
Chris and Julie share responsibility for implementing this plan. Relevant contractors will receive practical instructions relating to their work.
The approved plan will be publicly available on the Snowdonia Hub website. We will aim to align future annual updates with the six months following our financial year-end.
This plan supports our Environmental Policy and will be updated when significant changes to our operations make this necessary.
